Marc-Antoine Camirand officially closed the 2026 NASCAR Canada Series season as champion, marking another historic achievement in his career.
The Saint-Léonard-d’Aston, Quebec, driver secured his third consecutive championship and fourth title in five seasons behind the wheel of the No. 96 GM Paillé / Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet.
With championships in 2022, 2024, 2025 and 2026, Camirand is now tied for the most titles in NASCAR Canada Series history. His latest championship also makes him the first driver to win three consecutive titles since the series began in 2007.
Camirand finished the 2026 season with 621 points, establishing a new single-season series record.
A Season Defined by Winning
Camirand’s path to the championship was built on consistent performances and victories across several different types of tracks on the NASCAR Canada calendar.
His first wins of the season came at Autodrome Chaudière, where he swept the doubleheader. Camirand repeated the feat at Autodrome Montmagny, giving him four victories across the two Quebec short-track weekends.
His success continued during the series’ western swing at Edmonton International Raceway, where Camirand won the second race of the doubleheader to add another oval victory to his season total.
The championship run also included success on two of the series’ street circuits.
At the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, Camirand added another victory before the series headed to Markham for the inaugural event on the new street circuit.
With every driver facing the Markham layout for the first time, Camirand qualified on pole before winning the inaugural Markham 125. The victory was his seventh of the season and tied the NASCAR Canada Series record for most wins in a single season.
A Historic Championship Run
The 2026 title further established Camirand among the most successful drivers in NASCAR Canada Series history.
His first championship came in 2022. After missing out on the title in 2023, Camirand returned to the top of the standings in 2024 and successfully defended his championship title in 2025.
Camirand officially secured the 2026 championship at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park with one race remaining on the schedule, becoming the first driver in series history to win three consecutive titles. The championship also moved him into a tie for the series record with four titles.
Following the finale at Delaware Speedway, Camirand reflected on the collective effort behind the No. 96 team and the work that takes place behind the scenes throughout the season. While he is the one behind the wheel, he emphasized that the team’s success would not be possible without the dedication of his crew and the continued support of its partners.
For Camirand, winning races and championships is also a way of giving back to those who contribute to the team. He highlighted the support of GM Paillé and Jean-Claude Paillé in particular, while expressing his pride in everything they have accomplished together.
Camirand closes the 2026 season with a third consecutive championship, four titles in five years and a new championship points record, further adding to his place in the NASCAR Canada Series record books.
