The 2026 NASCAR Canada Series season comes down to one final night under the lights at Delaware Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 12.
While the championship has already been decided, there is still plenty at stake in the NTN BCA 200 Presented by APC. A potential record-breaking eighth victory for Marc-Antoine Camirand, the conclusion of Connor Bell’s Rookie of the Year campaign and D.J. Kennington’s final race in the No. 17 are among the highlights of the 2026 season finale.
One More Record Within Reach for Camirand
Last weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), the driver of the No. 96 GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet clinched his fourth championship in five seasons. After winning titles in 2022, 2024 and 2025, Camirand became the first driver in the series’ history to capture three consecutive championships.
But there is still one more piece of history within reach. With seven victories this season, Camirand has matched the single-season record previously set by Peter Gibbons and D.J. Kennington. An eighth win on Saturday night would establish a new series record and add another milestone to an already historic season.
Delaware has not traditionally been one of Camirand’s strongest tracks, but after finishing second at CTMP, he made his intentions for the finale clear: the championship may be secured, but the No. 96 team is still chasing one more win.
Connor Bell Closes Out His Rookie Season
The finale will also mark the end of Connor Bell’s first full season in the NASCAR Canada Series.
Bell entered 2026 as a Rookie of the Year contender after making an immediate impression in limited appearances the previous season, including a victory in his series debut at Calabogie Motorsports Park.
Over the course of his rookie campaign, the driver of the No. 3 Dymon/Sangsin Brake/HGC/Fast Eddie Chevrolet has continued to gain experience across the series’ mix of road courses, street circuits and ovals.
At Delaware, Bell will officially close the chapter on his rookie season and remove the rookie stripe as the 2026 NASCAR Canada Series Rookie of the Year.
The End of an Era for D.J. Kennington
Saturday night will also mark the end of a familiar chapter for one of the most recognizable drivers in NASCAR Canada history.
D.J. Kennington will make his final start in the No. 17 before joining Rick Ware Racing for the 2027 season, where he will drive the No. 51 Chevrolet as part of the organization’s new two-car NASCAR Canada program.
Known as the “Iron Man” of the series, Kennington is the only driver to have competed in every NASCAR Canada Series race. The two-time champion has spent decades building one of the most accomplished careers in the series’ history, and Delaware will mark his final race before a new chapter begins in 2027.
For Kennington, there may be no better place to close this chapter. He has a long history at Delaware Speedway and finished second in both races at the track last season.
One Final Chance to Witness History
Fourteen races, four provinces and one final showdown remain before the 2026 NASCAR Canada Series season officially comes to a close.
The championship has been clinched, but the story of the season is not finished. On Saturday night, fans will have one final opportunity to watch it all unfold in person.
The green flag for the NTN BCA 200 Presented by APC is scheduled to wave at 6:10 p.m. ET. The race will be broadcast live on REV TV, TVA Sports 2 and the NASCAR Canada YouTube channel.
