The NASCAR Canada Series wrapped up its final doubleheader of the 2026 season Saturday at Edmonton International Raceway. Kevin Lacroix claimed victory in the Dorman Products 150, while Marc-Antoine Camirand followed with a win in the Carlyle Tools 150, which ended early after a weather alert brought out the red flag.
Kevin Lacroix Opens Edmonton Doubleheader with Victory
Kevin Lacroix added another victory to his 2026 NASCAR Canada Series campaign on Saturday evening, taking the checkered flag in the Dorman Products 150 at Edmonton International Raceway behind the wheel of the No. 74 Valvoline/NAPA Racing Chevrolet.
Pole sitter William Larue maintained the lead at the start in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers/LeeBoy Chevrolet. Behind him, Marc-Antoine Camirand wasted no time moving forward in the No. 96 GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada, climbing from seventh to third in the opening laps following a battle with Louis-Philippe Dumoulin in the No. 47 WeatherTech/Bellemare/Omnifab/Dofralex Dodge.
Larue continued to control the race at the halfway mark, but Lacroix remained close behind and kept the pressure on. He eventually made the pass for the lead on Lap 87 before holding off the field over the closing laps to secure the victory.
It’s a good track to start building momentum. We’ve always been quick here, so I’m happy to win the first race of the day. Having two races today is great, and now we’re just looking forward to the next one,” said Lacroix.
Larue crossed the finish line second, while championship leader Camirand completed the podium in third.
Alberta’s Jamie Krzysik finished sixth in the No. 98 Krown-Pel Ventures/CURB Records/BerMar Chevrolet. Saskatchewan’s Matthew Shirley placed eighth in the No. 28 Crush-It Hard Iced Tea/Denray Tire Dodge, while fellow Saskatchewan driver Rob Naismith brought the No. 10 MRN Racing Chevrolet home in 11th.
Weather Ends Carlyle Tools 150 Early as Marc-Antoine Camirand Takes the Win
The second race of the Edmonton International Raceway doubleheader came to an early end Saturday night after a weather alert brought out a red flag. Marc-Antoine Camirand was declared the winner of the Carlyle Tools 150 behind the wheel of the No. 96 GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada.
William Larue started from the pole position in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers/LeeBoy Chevrolet and maintained the lead in the opening stages of the race.
On Lap 18, D.J. Kennington moved to the front in the No. 17 Castrol Edge Dodge, with Camirand quickly advancing into second ahead of Donald Theetge in the No. 80 Vulcain/Max Leclerc Construction Chevrolet. The trio soon found themselves locked in a spirited battle for the lead, trading positions over several laps as the race intensified. After multiple lead changes, Theetge briefly took over the top spot before Camirand regained the lead in the No. 96 GM Paillé/Chevrolet Canada.
At the halfway mark, Kevin Lacroix continued his charge through the field, moving past Larue to take over third place in the No. 74 Valvoline/NAPA Racing Chevrolet.
Before the scheduled distance could be completed, the race was halted by a red flag due to a weather alert. With conditions preventing the race from resuming, the event was checkered on Lap 86, handing Camirand the victory.
“What a night once again for the GM Paillé team. The car was much better in the second race after we made a few changes. It’s not the way we wanted to finish, but we’re happy to come away on top. We’re halfway through the season now, and every point matters in the championship. Now we’ll shift our focus to GP3R and see what we can do there,” said Camirand.
Lacroix finished second, while Theetge completed the podium in third.
Local Alberta driver Jamie Krzysik finished seventh in the No. 98 Krown-Pel Ventures/CURB Records/BerMar Chevrolet. Saskatchewan’s Rob Naismith crossed the finish line 11th in the No. 10 MRN Racing Chevrolet, while fellow Saskatchewan driver Matthew Shirley finished 12th in the No. 28 Crush-It Hard Iced Tea/Denray Tire Dodge.
Marc-Antoine Camirand continues to lead the driver standings with 397 points. William Larue earned Jostens Rookie of the Race honours in both races, adding valuable points as the battle for Rookie of the Year continues to heat up.
The NASCAR Canada Series heads to the streets of Trois-Rivières for the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières, taking place from August 7 to 9.
