Marc-Antoine Camirand won the XPN Burn-X 125, the opening race of Saturday’s NASCAR Canada doubleheader at Autodrome Montmagny, after a green-white-checkered finish.

Pole-sitter Camirand lost the lead to William Larue  in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers / Leeboy Chevrolet in the early laps and spent much of the race running second. After closing the gap, the driver of the No. 96 GM Paillé / Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet completed a pass for the lead following a wheel-to-wheel battle with Larue in the closing stages.

“The No. 96 GM Paillé car was really fast today. The No. 45 was very strong at the beginning of the race, but I stayed patient. I waited for his car to get a little loose, then I was able to get my nose underneath him. Lap traffic made things a little tricky, but in the end we came out on top,” said Camirand.

Larue crossed the finish line second, while Kevin Lacroix completed the podium in the No. 74 Valvoline / NAPA Racing Chevrolet.

Andrew Ranger delivered one of the drives of the race during his milestone 200th NASCAR Canada Series start. After rolling off 13th, the driver of the No. 27 GM Paillé / Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet worked his way through the field to finish fourth. Meanwhile, after qualifying sixth, Alex Tagliani was forced to start from the rear of the field due to radio issues. The driver of the No. 3 Olymel /Wurth / Ureco Chevrolet Chevrolet recovered to finish seventh.

The NASCAR Canada Series returns to the track later tonight for the Delta Electrolyte 150, scheduled to take the green flag at 8:10 p.m. ET.

Fans can watch the race live on REV TV and TVA Sports 2. The action will also stream live on the NASCAR Canada YouTube channel, with tape-delayed coverage available on TSN.
