Penultimate Event at Delaware Speedway as Championship Battle Tightens

Provisional Entry List

The NASCAR Canada Series heads to Delaware Speedway Saturday, Sept. 13, for a highly anticipated doubleheader that could prove pivotal in the championship race. Fans will be treated to back-to-back action with the APC 125 and the NTN 125, as the penultimate weekend of the season pushes the battle into its final stretch.

Delaware Speedway, the oldest operating paved track in Canada, has been a cornerstone of Canadian motorsport since 1952. The historic half-mile oval has long provided some of the most thrilling battles on the schedule and this year’s doubleheader promises no less.

Among the drivers to watch are defending champion Marc-Antoine Camirand in the No. 96 Paillé Racing Chevrolet, who posted the fastest lap in practice last year, and Kevin Lacroix, driver of the No. 74 NAPA Racing/Valvoline Chevrolet, who was the pole sitter and race winner in 2024.

Ontario driver, D.J. Kennington has scored five victories at Delaware Speedway in the No. 17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge, with his first coming in 2009 and his most recent in 2021. Andrew Ranger also earned a victory at the track in 2021 behind the No. 27 Chevrolet Paillé Racing.

Malcolm Strachan returns to the ovals behind the wheel of the No. 98 Curb Records/Darkhorse Trailers/Strode’s Ford, while Louis-Philippe Dumoulin will be in the No. 47 WeatherTech/Bellemare/Omnifab Dodge. Donald Theetge also returns to competition in the No. 80 Garoy Construction/Revêtements Vulcain Chevrolet. American driver Ryan Vargas will make his first appearance since GP3R, in the No. 28 Critical Path Security Dodge.

With just a few races remaining, the battle for the championship is closer than ever. Camirand leads the standings with 374 points, followed by Ranger with 355 points, Kennington with 350 points, Dumoulin with 327 points and Lacroix with 321 points. Every lap at Delaware Speedway will matter as the field fights for crucial points.

Saturday’s program kicks off at 12:45 p.m. with practice, followed by qualifying at 5 p.m. The APC 125 will go green at 6:15 p.m., with the NTN 125 to follow at 8:30 p.m. Fans can catch all the action live on REV TV with tape-delayed broadcasts airing on TVA Sports 2 and TSN.
