Qualifying Results

Qualifying for the NASCAR Canada Series WeatherTech 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park saw plenty of action across all three groups on Saturday afternoon.

In Group 1, Trevor Hill put down the fastest lap at the wheel of the No. 48 TWOth Autosport / Tomlinson / Crater Labs Chevrolet, asserting himself early in the session.

Group 2 delivered a fierce battle between Sam Fellows and Connor Bell. Fellows, driving the No. 87 AER / Polysleep / Novus / Mobil 1 / McDougall Chevrolet, ultimately edged out Bell in the No. 3 Dymon / Komcan / Eastrock / Peck’s / NBS Chevrolet to top the group.

The highlight of the day came in Group 3, where Andrew Ranger wasted no time making his mark. The veteran driver of the No. 27 Paillé Racing Chevrolet stormed to a new CTMP track record with a blistering lap of 1:20.915, securing the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award. Kyle Steckly followed closely in the No. 22 MBS Mtps / Sierra Excavating / APC Chevrolet, just 0.021 seconds behind Ranger. Gary Klutt put in a strong run to claim third in the No. 59 AutologiQ / Hofmann Plastics Dodge, while Alex Tagliani rounded out the top four in his No. 80 St-Hubert / UPS / Bet GRW / Dry Shine Chevrolet.

I’m really proud, it’s a new track record as well,” said Andrew Ranger. “My team did an excellent job, and the No. 27 GM Paillé Chevrolet was fast. Tomorrow, I’ll give it everything I have to try and bring home the win!
