Provisional Qualifying Results | Starting Line Up
Qualifying for the Calabogie 150 Clash of the Titans presented by NAPA and Mack MacKenzie Motors saw Gary Klutt rise to the occasion, taking the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award with a blistering lap of 1:12.092 aboard the No. 59 Autologic/Hofmann Plastics Dodge.
The three-group format delivered fast laps, starting with DJ Kennington leading the way in Group 1. The seasoned driver clocked a 1:13.279 in the No. 17 Castrol Edge/Brimstone Games/CIM Metals Dodge, topping the early charts.
In Group 2, Klutt rose to the occasion with his 1:12.092, a time that would stand through the final group and earn him pole position. It was a tough break for Kevin Lacroix in the No. 74 Adaptive One Calipers /NAPA Racing Chevrolet, who suffered a broken shifter and was unable to complete a lap. He will start from the back of the field.
Group 3 brought the heat, with Andrew Ranger in the No. 27 Paillé Chevrolet coming within a razor-thin 0.042 seconds of Klutt’s pole time. The Top 5 was rounded out by Marc-Antoine Camirand (No. 96 Paillé Chevrolet), Alex Tagliani (No. 80 St-Hubert Chevrolet), and impressive rookie Connor Bell (No. 3 Dymon/Eastrock/Peck’s Marine/NBS Chevrolet).
“ We had a good lap,” said Gary Klutt. “ We put it on pole position. I am looking forward to tomorrow. It’s going to be very different; the grip level is going to change, so the track is going to change. It will be an interesting strategy race.”
With the grid now set, the field will take the green flag for the Calabogie 150 at 2:10 p.m. ET on Sunday, July 27.
