Fresh off an action-packed night at Edmonton International Raceway, the NASCAR Canada Series continues its Western swing with the Leland Industries 250 at Sutherland Automotive Speedway in Saskatoon this Wednesday, July 16. The one-third mile banked oval is known for its tight racing and close battles.
Last year’s event saw Marc-Antoine Camirand take the win, followed by Kevin Lacroix and Andrew Ranger. Camirand also secured the pole position, while Donald Theetge set the fastest time in practice. Louis-Philippe Dumoulin claimed victories at Sutherland Automotive Speedway in 2014 and in the first race of the 2019 event. Andrew Ranger won the second race in 2019, while Donald Theetge took the win in 2018.
Sutherland Automotive Speedway has also been a particularly strong venue for championship runner-up D.J. Kennington, who had three career wins at the track with the NASCAR Canada series, in 2010, 2012 and 2022.
Saskatchewan-based drivers, Matthew Shirley in the No. 46 Crush-It Ice Tea / Denray Tire / Shirley’s Service Dodge and Rob Naismith in the No. 10 MRN Racing Chevrolet are set to compete in front of their home crowd.
On-track activities begin with practice at 12:15 p.m. CST, followed by qualifying at 4:35 p.m. CST. The Leland Industries 250 will take place at 7:15 p.m. CST.
Fans can watch the race live on REV TV and TVA Sports, with tape-delayed coverage to follow on TSN.
