The NASCAR Canada Series kicked off its first oval race of the season as drivers took to the high-banked 1/3-mile asphalt track at Riverside International Speedway.
Donald Theetge in the No. 80 St-Hubert / UPS Store / Bet GRW Chevrolet clocked the fastest lap of the session at 14.658.
“We were fast in practice today. My team did a great job with a new car, and I’m hoping we can keep that speed heading into tonight. It’s going to be a tough 300 laps but we’re confident we can go for the win.” said Donald Theetge ahead of Qualifying.
William Larue secured the second-fastest time in the No. 45 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers/XPN Chevrolet with 14.693. Rounding out the top three was Marc-Antoine Camirand commanding the No. 96 GM Paillé / Chevrolet Canada Chevrolet.
Kevin Laxroix behind the wheel of the No. 74 Adaptive One Calipers / NAPA Racing Chevrolet and Jason Hathaway in the No. 3 Leland / Sangsin Brakes / Fast Eddie / HGC Chevrolet completed the top five.
Qualifying for the NASCAR Canada 300 is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. AT today.
