Kevin Lacroix captured the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award ahead of the WeatherTech 200, establishing a new track record with a blistering lap time of 1:21.809 in his No. 74 Adaptive One Calipers/NAPA Racing Dodge.
“I’m feeling really good,” said Lacroix. “We’ve had some bad luck in the last few races, and we needed to regain momentum. I think breaking the track record and securing the pole by such a margin gives us a lot of confidence.”
Gary Klutt, driving the No. 59 Bothwell-Accurate/Hofmann Plastics Dodge, will join Lacroix on the front row with a time of 1:22.233, 0.424 seconds behind the pole.
Andrew Ranger qualified third, setting a time of 1:22.321 in his No. 27 GM Paillé Chevrolet, just 0.512 seconds off Lacroix’s time.
Championship leader Marc-Antoine Camirand, in the No. 96 GM Paillé Chevrolet, will start fourth, while Alex Labbe in the No. 36 AB Express/Lussier Chev/VR rounds out the top five.
The green flag for the WeatherTech 200 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will wave at 2:00 p.m. ET tomorrow.
