For just the second time in NASCAR Pinty’s Series history, the stars of Canada’s only NASCAR-sanctioned series will head to a dirt track.
Ohsweken Speedway welcomes the series for a two-day doubleheader featuring the Freshstone Dirt Classic on Monday and the Pinty’s 100 on Tuesday.
Treyten Lapcevich won the inaugural NASCAR Pinty’s race at Ohsweken one year ago after a late-race duel with NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series star Stewart Friesen.

While the history of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series at Ohsweken Speedway is brief, the history of the popular Canadian dirt track is far from it.
The brainchild of current NASCAR Pinty’s Series competitor Glenn Styres, ground was broken on what would eventually become Ohsweken Speedway in 1994 on 80 acres of land owned by the Styres family.
The track was completed two years later and hosted racing for the first time in 1996. A number of divisions have raced weekly at Ohsweken through the years, including 360 sprint cars, crate sprint cars, street stocks, mini stocks, bombers, sportsman modifieds, mod stocks and pro stocks.
Ohsweken has also hosted several major touring series, including the popular World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series. Two familiar names – three-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion Tony Stewart and three-time NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race winner Stewart Friesen – are among the drivers to win World of Outlaws features at the track.
The track’s marquee event every year is the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, an event that brings together the best sprint car drivers from Canada and the United States for one epic weekend of racing.
