Raphael Lessard and Ray Courtemanche Jr. are teaming up for the 2022 NASCAR Pinty’s season.
Both drivers made a statement today on their social media today, announcing the new partnership and their schedule for the upcoming year.
Lessard will be competing in the oval races, while Courtemanche will take over for the five road course events.
Lessard quickly made a name for himself in the series after winning his debut race at Autodrome Chaudiere in 2019. In 2021, he returned, filling in for an injured Donald Theetge, and swept both the season-opening races at Sunset Speedway.
Early this month, the 20-year-old from St.-Joseph de Beauce, Que., announced plans to run a few select races in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with SQR Development team, as well this year.
Courtemanche made his return to the series in 2021, driving the No. 8 for EHR on the road courses. He had an average finish of 14.3 with his best of 12th coming at GP3R.
The 51-year-old from Montreal, Que., had previously raced in the series from 2011-2015, making a total of 33 starts.
