Alex Labbé Clinches E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award at Montmagny!

Qualifying Results Montmagny

Alex Labbé delivered an impressive performance during the qualifying session at Autodrome Montmagny, setting a blazing lap time in his No. 36 AB Express/VR Victoriaville/Lussier Chevrolet. Labbé captured the E3 Spark Plugs Pole Award with a lap of 17.756 seconds, edging out Kevin Lacroix by just 0.027 seconds.

“It went extremely well,” said Labbé. “The car was very fast this afternoon. We knew we had speed on old tires, and we set a great time. We’ll have a great car for tomorrow’s XPN 250.”

Kevin Lacroix, driving his No. 74 Quick Strut/NAPA Racing Dodge, will start second on the grid. Currently sitting second in the championship points, Lacroix will need Marc-Antoine Camirand to finish outside the top 15 to have a shot at claiming the title. Camirand, in the No. 96 GM Paillé Chevrolet, set the fastest lap times in practice but couldn’t convert that into a pole position, starting in 8th place.

Qualifying third, just 0.003 seconds behind Lacroix and 0.030 seconds off the pole, is crowd favorite Raphaël Lessard in the No. 7 Larue Industrial Snow Blowers Chevrolet. Andrew Ranger, Lacroix’s teammate, will start fourth in the No. 27 GM Paillé Chevrolet with a lap time of 17.803 seconds. Rounding out the top five is rookie Steve Côté, piloting the No. 29 Evirum/BKFC Chevrolet.

On-track action continues tomorrow with the green flag for the XPN 250 set to wave at 1:00 p.m. ET. Tune in on TSN+ and FloRacing.com to catch the race.
